As well as being a very historically important and picturesque town, Westerham has a thriving business community. Long famous for it’s antique shops, the business base has expanded greatly in the last decade.

The town is now a centre for lady’s fashion shops and there are several of them in the town centre selling clothing, shoes and accessories. While visitors explore the shops in Westerham, they can visit one of the twenty–one eating and drinking establishments in the town. The fare on offer ranges from the traditional pub selling food to the French, Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai and Turkish eating places, as well as the traditional English tea shops .

The traders and commercial businesses in the town have formed a Westerham Business Forum, where matters of common interest are discussed, and where plans are put in place designed to make the town a pleasant place to live, and a place to visit for those that come into the town from elsewhere. Continual improvement of the environment is the objective of the Business Forum and plans are afoot to make events like the special long shopping evenings into regular events. Other events to make the Westerham visit a memorable one will also be promoted from time to time.

In all, Westerham is, and will continue to be a very attractive place to come and shop, have a meal, and take in the wonderfully picturesque surroundings. This blend of the old and the contemporary makes Westerham a special place.
