Westerham Charities

Hospice in the Weald

We provide specialist palliative care advice and clinical support for people with life limiting illness, their family and the bereaved.

A team of Community Nurse Specialists provide advice and support to the local community, backed up with family support, bereavement counselling, spiritual care and a health information service.

All our services and activities are supported by a skilled and dedicated team of volunteers. No charge is made for the services, which are provided on the basis of need rather than ability to pay.

The Hospice In The Weald has a shop and holds fund-raising activities in Westerham - keep a watch on the calendar.

NSPCC

NSPCC

The Westerham & Crockham Hill Branch of the NSPCC was founded in 1955 and now organises three main events each year to raise funds for the charity.

All proceeds go to support the national network of child protection centres, one of the largest and most needed of which is Gillingham, helping children and families from all over the south east.

The annual Salmon & Shoes Garden Party takes its name from the smoked salmon lunch and the mobile shoe shop which is the main attraction amongst an array of craft and fashion stalls. The event is renowned for its lovely venues and is always a success no matter the weather!

The lunches feature many interesting speakers, including the occasional celebrity, and the dessert table is famous in its own right.

St Mary's Church, The Green
St Mary’s Westerham Heritage Trust was launched as a registered charity in April 2003 by a group of local people with the aim to maintain and preserve the thirteenth century Parish Church, a key feature of Westerham.

Local people and visitors all benefit from the existence of the building whether they use it or not; it’s a central feature in the Town which helps to make Westerham the attractive place it is in which to work, live, and visit.
